VANCOUVER — It was a skate down memory lane for Marc Crawford.
The Senators’ associate coach spent nearly eight years behind the Vancouver Canucks bench as the head coach and he returned to Rogers Arena on Monday with Ottawa after a four-year absence while working overseas.
A former Canucks’ player from 1981-to-1987, Crawford, 55, took over the coaching job in 1998 and was let go at the end of the 2005-06 campaign. He has roots here with a home in North Vancouver and spent Sunday night there after the Senators arrived in the afternoon.
“In my times between jobs I’ve always been here,” Crawford said.
