Clarke MacArthur wasn't on the ice Monday morning at the Bell Sensplex.
His status for the season opener Thursday night at the First Niagara Centre in Buffalo is "doubtful' and even that's likely optimistic.
After missing 20 games last season with a concussion he suffered in a collision with goalie Robin Lehner and Carolina defenceman Jay Harrison, the Senators' winger is out with a head injury again after he collided with teammate Mark Fraser and Montreal Canadiens' winger Alex Galchenyuk Saturday in the final exhibition game.
Coach Dave Cameron wasn't shedding a lot of light on the situation but admitted the club is worried about the status of the 30-year-old MacArthur, who has been one of the club's most consistent players the last two seasons.
