COLUMBUS - Just a day after missing practice with a noticeable limp, Curtis Lazar was pronounced ready to play in Wednesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Senators winger missed practice Tuesday for “maintenance” on a foot he injured while blocking a Jeff Petry slapshot in the first period of Sunday’s home opener against the Habs.
“It’s pretty tough to skate when your foot hardly fits in it,” Lazar said after Wednesday's morning skate. “I guess 20 years old and the first week of the season having a maintenance day is not the best thing, but the extra day of rest really helped.
