Julien could be attractive to Senators if Bruins fire coach

Eugene Melnyk proved he has a long memory when he vilified his coach for the “stupidity” of starting a rookie goalie in the home opener against the Habs — and now Dave Cameron is hoping the owner’s short-term recollection is even better.

Melnyk says the decision on his coach’s future will be left with GM Bryan Murray, as it should be. But if Murray decides a change must be made, as is likely, you still have to wonder if Melnyk would try to change his mind based on Saturday’s 6-1 season-ending win over Boston.

Especially if Murray wants to replace him with Bruins coach Claude Julien, who is expected to be canned by his boss, Cam Neely.
