A healthy scratch for the past nine games, the big defenceman will step in against the New Jersey Devils while Marc Methot will sit with a lower-body injury. The team sent Fredrik Claesson down to Binghamton late Wednesday night.
At the same time, the Senators recalled winger Matt Puempel from their AHL affiliate but his status will be on hold as both Mike Hoffman (neck) and Kyle Turris (ankle) are game time decisions.
If Turris cannot suit up, his streak of consecutive games played with be stopped at 307.
