VANCOUVER — For Senators general manager Bryan Murray, the picture looks so much prettier than it did only a week ago.
It’s not just because Murray was holding court on Wednesday with float planes landing on the harbour behind him and with the snow-capped Rockies on the horizon.
It’s because his team has suddenly come to life, aiming to win a season-high fifth consecutive game against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday.
The Senators may just have a shot at the playoffs after all, which could alter Murray’s thinking leading up to Monday’s trade deadline. Before Wednesday’s games, the Senators were three teams and four points out of a wild-card spot.
