Former Senator Nate Thompson calls it a career after 15 years in the NHL. The journeyman played for nine teams during his time in the show, including 43 games with the Ottawa Senators in the 2017-18 season. In his sole season in the nation’s capital, he had 11 points.
In February of 2018, his short stop in Ottawa ended. He was packaged alongside Dion Phaneuf and sent to the Los Angeles Kings for Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore.
After his time with the Senators, the former sixth-round pick played for seven more years.
