Perhaps Edmonton Oilers defenceman Eric Gryba will frame the game sheet from Tuesday’s victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets to show his grandkids.
On the night Connor McDavid scored one of the most spectacular goals in recent memory, Gryba broke a 138-game goal-scoring drought, dating back to March 8, 2014.
“I told him that wasn’t fair,” the former Senator joked before Thursday’s game against his former team. “I don’t score for 100 and 30 something games and he comes back (from injury) with one and gets three points. That’s pretty selfish of him. But I guess I will let it pass.
