Condon called upon to help Senators beat Islanders

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Mike Condon was supposed to get some much-needed rest Sunday night at the Barclays Center.

That lasted just over 16 minutes for the Senators’ goaltender.

While this was Andrew (The Hamburglar) Hammond’s time to shine, he didn’t make it through the first period after suffering what appeared to be a leg injury and that meant Condon was called into action to help lead the Senators to a 6-2 victory over the New York Islanders.

Hammond was dressed as the backup in the second but the Senators stuck with Condon the rest of the way.
