LONDON, Ont. -- Chris Rumble is trying to follow in his father's footsteps.
An original member of the Senators, Darren Rumble, a journeyman blueliner, arrived in the club's camp in 1992-93 after being picked in the expansion draft from the Philadelphia organization and it was in Ottawa where he was able to establish himself as an NHLer for two full seasons.
So, as the 20 players took the ice Friday night at the Budweiser Gardens against the Toronto Maple Leafs' rookies, pulling on a Senators' jersey and trying to earn a contract after finishing the season with the club's East Coast Hockey League affiliate in Evansville meant a lot to the 25-year-old Rumble.
