The Senators arrived home in the wee hours of Sunday, their team suddenly in a state of disarray with five games before the holiday break.
In a season where everything had seemingly gone right for the Senators, despite their inconsistent play, the world came crashing down Saturday night at the Bell Centre in a 3-1 loss to the arch-rival Montreal Canadiens in what surely has to be one of their worst losses since coach Dave Cameron took over 12 months ago.
So steamed was Cameron he had fire in his eyes when he appeared for his post-game press conference.
