Bryan Murray heads $5M cancer campaign

Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray is leading a $5-million campaign to change how Ottawa residents live with cancer.

Murray, who was diagnosed in 2014 with Stage 4 cancer, was announced as the honorary chair of the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre (OICC) campaign Wednesday morning at a breakfast sponsored by the Ottawa Senators Foundation.

The centre, the first of its kind in central and eastern Canada, provides therapeutic programs that are meant to be complementary to conventional treatments, in a bid to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.

"I am proud to take on the role of honorary chair for the centre's first major fundraising campaign," Murray said in a statement.
