With a tightly packed Atlantic Division, both the Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins look to pick up some valuable points Sunday when they start a home-and-home series at Scotiabank Place.
The top six teams in the Atlantic are separated by four points, with the Bruins (19-11-4) third on 42 points and the Senators (17-12-6) fifth on 40. Boston had surged near the top of the division on the strength of an 11-1-3 run, but has slumped back with consecutive regulation losses around the Christmas break.
On Saturday, the Bruins fell apart in the final 20 minutes of their 6-3 home loss to Buffalo -- one of the two teams not in that log jam -- by conceding five goals in the third period.
