OTTAWA — At 11:20 a.m., on Friday, the short and final skate of the season completed at the Canadian Tire Centre, captain Erik Karlsson left the ice first followed shortly afterward by coach Dave Cameron.
Only one of them is guaranteed to be back next season.
It’s all over but the crying for the Senators. It has been for weeks. The final buzzer on a frustrating season will sound Saturday afternoon at the TD Garden and the final result doesn’t really matter — except to the Boston Bruins — because come Monday they’ll pack their bags for what’s going to be a long, long summer.
