Pierre Dorion made perfectly clear what he thinks about his No. 1 goalie earlier this week.
While refusing to divulge his protected list for the upcoming expansion draft, the Ottawa Senators GM made one exception.
“Craig Anderson will be the goalie we protect,” Dorion said before being asked. “No and, ifs or buts about it.”
More subtle was his response when asked about a contract extension for Anderson, who has one year left at a salary cap hit of $4.2 million. “Can’t talk until July 1,” he said.
In other words, expect the 36-year old to be offered a deal that will allow him to finish his career in Ottawa.
