Anderson gets start vs. Sabres but Condon still key to Senators' success

OTTAWA — Craig Anderson was back in the Ottawa Senators net Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres, but don’t make the mistake of forgetting about Mike Condon.

Condon, whose work as the emergency goaltending replacement might well have saved the Senators season, will be heard from again down the stretch.

As Anderson readjusts to the hectic pace of the schedule — beginning Thursday against New Jersey, the Senators will play three games in four days and four games in six days — Senators coach Guy Boucher will be leaning on both netminders.

“We’ve got to take into consideration that (Anderson) hasn’t played in two months and we don’t want to overwhelm him right now and have him pull a groin or something because he’s not used to playing so many in a row,” Boucher said before the puck dropped versus Buffalo.
