CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Mark Fowler hit a home run and had three RBIs to lead Wright State past Ohio 8-3 on Sunday, eliminating the Bobcats from the NCAA regionals.
Play was suspended in the top of the third inning because of rain on Saturday.
Wright State (42-16) got eight innings over two days from starter Jesse Scholtens (7-4), who threw 116 pitches and allowed eight hits for the win.
It was the first postseason win for Wright State since 1994. Ryan Fucci went 2 for 4 with three RBIs for the Raiders. Fowler was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
