TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Freshman Connor Mayes pitched a two-hit shutout and Tres Barrera and Brooks Marlow each drove in two runs to lead Texas to a 4-0 victory Saturday against Baylor and reach the Big 12 Tournament title game.
Mayes (2-4) had 10 strikeouts and needed 127 pitches for the third straight complete game for a Longhorn hurler in the tournament. He allowed a leadoff single to Adam Toth in the fourth inning and a single to Kameron Esthay in the sixth.
Esthay's hit came in the only inning Baylor threatened to score. The Bears (23-32) loaded the bases with two out on Esthay's single and a pair of walks.
