The Dallas Stars and defenseman John Klingberg have agreed to terms on a seven-year contract with an average annual value of $4.2 million, the Dallas Morning News reported Friday.
Klingberg, 22, led NHL rookie defenseman with 40 points and was second with 11 goals. His 21:50 average ice time in 65 games was third on the Stars. He can become a restricted free agent this summer.
A fifth-round pick (No. 131) in the 2010 NHL Draft, Klingberg made his NHL debut Nov. 11.
