Peter DeBoer will be named the next coach of the San Jose Sharks before the end of the week, according to ESPN.com.
Sharks general manager Doug Wilson had no comment on the report when reached by ESPN.com.
DeBoer was fired by the New Jersey Devils after 36 games last season, his fourth with the team. In 2011-12, his first season, he guided the Devils to the Stanley Cup Final.
He also coached the Florida Panthers for three seasons (2008-2011). In parts of seven seasons DeBoer has a record of 217-200-77 in 494 games.
