The New York Giants are pulling a long-term offer that they made to defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, according to a report.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network notes that the offer was for $60 million and the Giants pulled it after Pierre-Paul injured his hand in a fireworks accident over the holiday weekend. While the Giants are reportedly concerned about the timing of the mishap and the “apparent judgment displayed” by the 26-year-old defensive end, the decision to pull the offer should not affect Pierre-Paul’s current situation with the team. He had no intention of accepting the deal and still had yet to sign his franchise tender, which is worth $14.
