Ray McDonald released by Bears after domestic violence arrest

Ray McDonald’s stint with the Chicago Bears was a short one.

The Bears released McDonald on Monday after he was taken into custody by Santa Clara, Calif., police for alleged domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting a woman while she was holding a child, which constitutes potential child endangerment.

According to NBC Bay Area, McDonald rents an apartment for his ex-fiancee and baby. He apparently went out Sunday night and then wanted to return to the apartment and asked her to leave. She called police.

The Bears, who signed McDonald for $1.5 million with nothing guaranteed, decided the incident was enough to pull the plug.
