HOUSTON (AP) -- The Rice-Houston Baptist elimination game in the Houston Regional was suspended in the top of the fourth inning due to lightning and rain on Saturday.
Houston and Louisiana-Lafayette, originally scheduled to face each other Saturday night, will play Sunday after the Rice-Houston Baptist game is concluded.
The winner of the Rice-Houston Baptist game will face the loser of the Houston-Louisiana-Lafayette matchup on Sunday night in an elimination game. The championship game will be played Monday.
Rice leads 1-0 in the fourth, and will be batting with one out when play resumes. The Owls went ahead in the fourth on a one-out double by Ryan Chandler.
