PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Pittsburgh star wide receiver Tyler Boyd is under investigation for suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop early Friday morning.
Jefferson Hills police say the 20-year-old Boyd was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. Friday. He underwent breathalyzer and blood tests. Sergeant Kevin King says the results are pending and no charges have been filed.
Boyd, from Clairton, Pennsylvania, about 30 minutes south of Pittsburgh, caught 78 passes for 1,261 yards and eight touchdowns and was a first-team All-ACC selection as a sophomore in 2014.
First-year coach Pat Narduzzi called Boyd's situation ''both serious and disappointing,'' and added Boyd will be held accountable to the team's standards of discipline and behavior.
