Peter Chiarelli appears to be joining Oilers - Todd Nelson (C) Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers will reportedly meet with Peter Chiarelli.

Chiarelli was recently relieved from his position as the general manager of the Boston Bruins. He's got a great resume that includes a Stanley Cup championship with the Bruins, but the fact that he's meeting with Edmonton is interesting given that they have no vacancy. Kevin Lowe is the Oilers' current president and Craig MacTavish is the general manager. It's possible that one of them will get fired or demoted to make room for Chiarelli though if he's willing to sign with Edmonton.
