The Edmonton Oilers will have a news conference Friday at 3 p.m. ET, where former Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli will be introduced as a member of the front office, according to TSN.
TSN reported that Chiarelli met with the Oilers on Wednesday.
Chiarelli had been fired by the Bruins on April 15 after nine years as GM. During that time the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2011 and went back to the Cup Final in 2013. But the Bruins missed the playoffs this season, finishing two points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
