WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Monmouth's T.J. Hunt struck out five in a seven-inning no-hitter, leading the Hawks to a 1-0 win over Saint Peter's and a doubleheader sweep Saturday.
The senior right-hander from Wyckoff tossed the school's first no-no since current Baltimore Orioles righty Brad Brach threw one in 2007.
Hunt (5-4) walked two and needed 90 pitches to complete the no-hitter, his fifth complete game of the season and third in a row. Monmouth (20-20) beat Saint Peter's (9-34) 12-3 in the first game of the doubleheader.
Hunt sealed the no-hitter by getting Zach Rawson to ground out to shortstop, setting off a celebration at the mound.
