Lou Lamoriello thanks Devils fans in newspaper ad

Lou Lamoriello wasn't about to begin his new venture as general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs without thanking the fans of the New Jersey Devils.

Lamoriello resigned as president of the Devils on Thursday to become the 16th general manager of the Maple Leafs. Lamoriello worked in New Jersey for 28 years and won the Stanley Cup three times.

The move certainly caught many fans of the Devils by surprise but Lamoriello, always one to do things his way, wasn't about to leave those loyal followers with any doubt about how much he cherished his time helping build three championship teams in the Garden State.
