In unusual season, Virginia looks to keep NCAA streak alive (The Associated Press)

Virginia has reached the NCAA tournament in each of Brian O'Connor's first 11 seasons as coach.

The Cavaliers (27-18) have some work to do this year to keep that streak alive.

Virginia is in the midst of a nine-day break for final exams, and its 10-14 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play places it 10th in the league standings. Only 10 teams make the conference tournament, and there are eight teams within three games of each other fighting to the last six spots with two weekends to go.

The Cavaliers have seven games left - three at home against Duke, three at North Carolina and a home game against Richmond - before the regular season ends May 16.
