SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Matt Hall struck out 11 over eight innings and Missouri State advanced to the championship round of the Springfield Regional with a 5-3 win over Iowa on Saturday night.
Justin Paulsen, whose long drive down the right-field line was ruled foul in the second, broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth with an RBI single. Spencer Johnson and Jake Burger also had RBI singles in the inning, putting the Bears (47-10) up to stay.
Hall (11-2) scattered seven hits, and the Bears overcame three errors, including a pair of throwing miscues that helped put Iowa ahead 2-0 in the second.
