Forward Andrew Desjardins signed a two-year contract with an average annual value of $800,000 to remain with the Chicago Blackhawks, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
"Took far less to stay,” Desjardins' agent, Todd Reynolds, told reporter Mark Lazerus. "Loves it there."
Acquired prior to the NHL Trade Deadline from the San Jose Sharks for forward Ben Smith, Desjardins became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He played left wing on an effective fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Andrew Shaw that helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup for the third time in six seasons.
