Nick Foligno will be named the next captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
The Blue Jackets have announced a press conference for Wednesday where their new captain will be unveiled.
Foligno set career highs with 31 goals and 73 points in 79 games this season and was a captain in the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game held in Columbus.
"We've been a very young team for three seasons now, and we've talked a lot about waiting for one player to emerge, how that player -- when he's ready -- will be obvious to everyone," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said earlier this week, according to the Dispatch.
