Paul Byron signed a one-year contract with the Calgary Flames on Sunday, avoiding arbitration. Byron's hearing was scheduled for Thursday.
Financial terms were not released, but Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported the contract is worth $900,000.
Byron had surgery to repair a sports hernia in May and an operation on his wrist in June. He will have a pin removed from his wrist the first week of September and hopes to be ready for the start of training camp, according to the Calgary Sun.
Byron scored six goals and 19 points in 57 games with Calgary last season.
