The Anaheim Ducks have been given permission to interview former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Dave Nonis, TSN reported Thursday.
Nonis was fired by Toronto on April 12 with three years remaining on his contract.
Nonis worked for the Ducks for six months in 2008 as an adviser under general manager Bryan Burke. Nonis also was GM of the Vancouver Canucks from 2004-08, where he replaced Burke.
TSN said Nonis could be an adviser in Anaheim, where Bob Murray is GM.
Nonis. 49, was named GM of the Maple Leafs in January 2013.
