The New Jersey Devils re-signed forward Stefan Matteau to a two-year contract, the team announced on Friday.
The contract has an annual average value of $612,500.
Matteau, 21, was selected by the Devils in the first round (No. 29) of the 2012 NHL Draft. The forward had one goal in seven games with the Devils last season and had 12 goals and 27 points in 61 games with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Albany Devils.
In two seasons with the Devils, Matteau has two goals, four points and 10 penalty minutes in 24 NHL games.
