Defenceman Josh Manson agrees to 2-year, $1.65 million extension with the Anaheim Ducks

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Defenceman Josh Manson and the Anaheim Ducks have agreed to a two-year, $1.65 million contract extension through the 2017-18 season.

The Ducks announced the deal Wednesday.

Manson will get $825,000 each season of the extension, which is a one-way deal.

He made his NHL debut and played 28 games for the Ducks last year, collecting three assists.

The Northeastern product was a sixth-round pick by Anaheim in 2011. He is the son of longtime NHL defenceman Dave Manson.

The Ducks still haven't signed restricted free agents Jakob Silfverberg and Carl Hagelin, but general manager Bob Murray has said they're making progress.
