Chicago Blackhawks recall D Trevor van Riemsdyk from Rockford

CHICAGO - The Blackhawks have recalled defenceman Trevor van Riemsdyk from Rockford of the American Hockey League, and coach Joel Quenneville says he might be able to play in the Western Conference finals against Anaheim.

Van Riemsdyk is coming back from surgeries on his left knee in November and his right wrist in April. The rookie had one assist in 18 games with Chicago.

Van Riemsdyk skated at the United Center on Friday. His last NHL game was on Nov. 16, but Quenneville did not rule him out for later in the series against the Ducks.
