Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning said Thursday teams were interested in acquiring starting goalie Ryan Miller prior to the 2015 NHL Draft, but he chose to trade another goalie instead.
"We could have moved Ryan Miller," Benning said at a meeting with Canucks season ticket holders, according to The Province. "There were teams calling on Ryan Miller."
Benning, who didn't specify the interested teams, had previously said the Canucks would trade either Eddie Lack or Jacob Markstrom in the offseason. Lack was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on June 27 for the 66th pick in the 2015 draft and a seventh-round pick in 2016.
