Callahan out for Lightning after appendectomy

Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Ryan Callahan is out indefinitely after having an emergency appendectomy Monday.

The Lightning host the Montreal Canadiens in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Second Round on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports). Tampa Bay leads the best-of-7 series 3-2.

Callahan has three assists and is a team-high plus-7 in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He had 24 goals and 30 assists in 77 regular-season games.

Ryan Callahan had an emergency appendectomy tonight at Tampa General and his return to the ice is undetermined at this point.
