Barret Jackman will not return to the St. Louis Blues next season, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Thursday.
The 34-year-old defenseman has spent his entire 13-season NHL career with the Blues. He will be an unrestricted free agent July 1. According to the report, the Blues told Jackman the club will be going in a different direction this offseason.
The Blues selected Jackman with the 17th pick of the 1999 NHL Draft, and he made his NHL debut April 14, 2002. As a rookie in 2002-03 he had three goals, 19 points and a plus-23 rating and won the Calder Trophy.
