St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed defenseman Jordan Schmaltz to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Schmaltz, 21, finished his junior year at the University of North Dakota this past season. The 6’2, 189-pound defenseman ranked third on the club with 28 points including a team-leading 24 assists in 42 regular season games, while he led North Dakota to their second consecutive Frozen Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During his collegiate career overall, Schmaltz accumulated 64 points (13 goals, 51 assists) in 125 regular season games, while earning back-to-back NCAA Second Team All-Star honors in 2014 and 2015.
