Blue Jackets allow Reilly to talk to other teams: report

Mike Reilly, a defenseman drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2011, is meeting with teams at the NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, N.Y., this week after he was unable to agree to a contract with the Blue Jackets.

Columbus has waived its exclusive negotiating window with Reilly, who can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen told the newspaper that Reilly can talk with "whoever he wanted to talk to."

Selected in the fourth round (No. 98) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Reilly had 18 goals and 89 points in three seasons with the University of Minnesota and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA's top player last season, when he had six goals and 42 points for the Gophers.
