Patrick Sharp probably will never score an easier goal in his life. At the least, he’s probably never going to have an easier path to the net in a Stanley Cup Finals game.
During the first period of Game 5 between the Blackhawks and Lightning on Saturday, Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop left the circle in an attempt to clear the puck. He ended up colliding with teammate Victor Hedman, leaving the puck and net available for Sharp, who took advantage.
The Lightning must have been excited to have Bishop back in net for the game, but that’s not the kind of play they wanted to see from him.
