Morneau landed on the disabled list at the end of May with a cervical strain and concussion symptoms and he's made little in the way of progress. With his concussion history, obviously the Rockies aren't going to take any chances. There's no set timeline, but Rockies manager Walt Weiss is optimistic that he'll return before the end of the season.
Gomez was scratched from Monday's lineup due to right leg soreness. It's been an ongoing situation with him, as he had a stint on the disabled list with a hamstring strain in mid-April and missed three games last week with a hip issue.
