Andrzej Fonfara beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to a pulp in the ring, and then he hit him with a few more jabs after their fight Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
Fonfara (27-3, 16 KOs), who won after Chavez’s corner called off the fight following the ninth round, said in his postfight interview on Showtime that he could tell in the first round that Chavez Jr. lacked punching power.
“I know Chavez is tough fighter. He don’t quit. He’s like (in) good shape,” the Polish fighter said. “But when I start first round, I know I win this fight.
