The Orlando Magic’s seemingly never-ending injury cycle produced yet another different starting lineup as newly-signed big man Moritz Wagner started in place of rookie forward Chuma Okeke for Friday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Wagner joined Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, James Ennis and Wendell Carter Jr. in the starting rotation. It was the Magic’s franchise-high 30th starting lineup of the season.
The 6-foot-11 Wagner was signed on Tuesday and played 8½ minutes in his debut Wednesday in Cleveland.
Ennis also was set to get some of the backup minutes at the power forward spot. But his recent return from his own injury and the back-to-back set with the Grizzlies (the teams play Saturday in Orlando) meant the Magic would be more cautious with how much they used Ennis.
