On Tuesday night, the NBA Draft Lottery was held and the Orlando Magic learned that they have the fifth and eighth overall picks in the 2021 draft.
As a team that went just 21-51, there are plenty of needs for Orlando and a number of directions it could go. Options include players from overseas and more commonly, from U.S. colleges and universities.
Throughout the Magic’s relatively short history, there are a number of schools to produce Orlando draft picks. Some however, have done so more often than others.
Here’s a look at the schools that have produced the most picks by Orlando:
Kentucky (4)
Picks: Rodney Dent (31st overall in 1994), Daniel Orton (29th overall in 2010), DeAndre Liggins (53rd overall in 2011), Jarred Vanderbilt (41st overall in 2018)
Overview: The Orlando Magic have picked players from Kentucky more often than any other school, but the dividends have been small.
