On Draft night 2014, the Orlando Magic announced they had traded away swingman Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets, in exchange for French swingman Evan Fournier, and the 56th pick.
At the time, this seemed to be a poor return. Afflalo was coming off an All-Star-caliber season in which he averaged 18.2 points while shooting 42.7 percent from beyond the arc. Fournier had yet to establish himself as a solid NBA player — playing in only 19.8 minutes per game.
Yet since then, it seems the two have engaged in opposite career trajectories — Fournier has established himself as a solid two-way NBA player, while Afflalo has floundered during stints with the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers and the New York Knicks.
