Each season, the NBA forecasts about four teams to have a legitimate shot at winning the championship. Other than that top tier of teams, the rest of the league is either developing young players or looking to make moves to get into the championship conversation.
The Southeast Division this past year was certainly among that latter group of teams trying to fight their way into the top tier.
The Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets all made the Playoffs. The Washington Wizards disappointed by just falling short, coming into the season with big expectations and high hopes.
