Rumor Central: Magic not expected to be a player in free agency

After giving out some big contracts in 2016 with Rob Hennigan in charge, the Orlando Magic isn't likely to spend that much in 2017 under new president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman.

"I think for where we are now as an organization, we would like to bring in players that could either grow with us or help those younger [players already on the team] grow themselves," Weltman told the Orlando Sentinel. "So we’ll focus in on that."

The Magic can get about $14.5 million under the salary cap in July and that's not enough to land a top free agent, unless a player making a lot of money next season can be traded off the roster.
